Connectivity: Distance from state capital Guwahati is 340 Kms.
With a geographical area of 1327 Sq. Km, the district is bounded by River Barak & Cachar district in the North and East, State of Mizoram in the South and East and Karimganj district in the west. The interstate border is stretched over 76 KM in the south east.
The area to be covered by the project is complete area of Algapur and Hailakandi Development Block of Hailakandi District. The Project will include 14 Gaon Panchayats (GPs) of Hailakandi district for its 24×7 piped water supply project in 2 developmental Blocks viz. Hailakandi and Algapur.The project area covers a total of 57 villages.
