Sivasagar formerly known as Sibsagar, is one of the 32 districts of Assam. Sivasagar town is administrative headqurter of this district. Presently the district covers an area of 2668 square kilometres. The district is delimited on its North by mighty river Brahmaputra.
Neer Nirmal Pariyojana is proposed to cover the GPs under Amguri Sub Division covering two Development Blocks, namely Amguri and Gaurisagar.
The Project will include 25 Gaon Panchayats (GPs) of Sivasagar district for its 24×7 piped water supply project in 2 developmental Blocks viz. Amguri and Gaurisagar.The project area covers 159 villages in total.
